(I haven’t put the source with the quotes because I am not trying to offend anyone in any way. This is solely my opinion. If you don’t like it then don’t read it. It’s just my rant.)
Let me share some quotes with you:

Allow me to share this: Being gay/lesbian is NOT easier than being straight. Sure, guys can break your heart, but so can girls. Falling in love with a girl isn’t easy, especially if you don’t know if she’s into boys or girls. If she’s into girls, you’re lucky. If she’s into boys, your whole world might fall apart.
“That word ‘lesbian’ sounds like a disease. And straight men know because they’re sure that they’re the cure.”
It’s funny when you hear “You’re gay? Well, let me straighten you out ;)” or something along those lines. (I am in NO way saying this applies to all men!) Being gay/lesbian isn’t some kind of disease. If it were we’d be able to call into work and be like “Hey, I can’t work today, I’m lesbian” .
“What’s the point of being a lesbian if a woman is going to look and act like an imitation man?”
Another ‘stereotype’. Not all lesbians are dressed/act like a man and not all girls who are dressed/act like a man are lesbians.
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
Yes, I had to bring Dr. Seuss in this. She’s completely right. If you’re a girl in love with a girl, don’t be afraid to show it in public, don’t be afraid to give into your feelings. If you lose a friend over it, so be it. I’ve lost my fair share of friends, so what? If they don’t accept you for it, they might not even be real friends at all. Your friends will accept you, whether you like boys or girls, it just doesn’t matter. It SHOULDN’T matter.
People say the subject is discussed more openly these days. Then why can’t we show it in public? Why can’t we marry? We have the same rights as straight couples do, we’re all human beings. We just happen to love somebody who’s the same sex. That doesn’t mean we don’t love each other as much as a straight couple does.
